The route for the “Teacher Tour” parade Friday, specially designed to pass the homes of as many students as possible, has been announced.
The Teacher Tour will start in Scranton at 4 pm. The tour should be in Jefferson at 4:30, in Grand Junction at about 5:55, and in Rippey at 6:30. Times are approximate, but Teacher Tour organizers say they’ll stay as close as to the schedule as possible.
Organizers have named expectations that students and community members should follow in order to be safe and set a good example for children.
-
School staff will not be able to stop and talk. Staff can wave and honk their horns!
-
Please do not approach the cars. Attendees can stand on a porch, in a yard, in a driveway, or on the sidewalk to wave at teachers.
-
Attendees should not meet as a group or stand together-please remember to practice safe social distancing!
“If students and community members would like to make a sign and wave, we would love to see the excitement from you as well,” an organizer said.
There are areas designated for those whose home is not on the parade route. Both high school parking lots will be available for parking and watching the parade.

Note: This is not a school/district-sponsored event or activity. It is organized by a group of individuals who work together for the sake of students and the community.
There is no rain date.
